Pathfinders Sunday School

September 10th - May 20th, 2018

The Children’s Ministry at Resurrection strives to build a strong foundation in Jesus Christ through experiencing and sharing God’s love. Our children’s worship is filled with singing, a children’s message, and much more so children can begin to experience church together in an age appropriate setting. Class room time follows our children’s worship.

While registering your child, be sure to select the correct Worship time along with the correct grade. Your child must turn 3 years old by September 1st, 2017 in order to be in the Preschool class. Classes officially begin on September 17th, 2017. Let’s have a great year!

Journey 3 - God's at War Study (Sundays)

April 8th - May 13th, 2018

$0 - $10

There may be no wooden or golden idols in your home, such as the ancient Israelites struggled with, but chances are, there are significant idols in your heart. These idols can look like normal, everyday concerns about security, financial stability, desire for attention or affection, but can easily become the ugly reality of anxiety, greed, and seeking approval of man, rather than God.

In God's at War, Kyle Idleman addresses the issues of idolatry in the lives of believers by asking insightful questions that will help you determine which false gods are striving to sit on the throne of your heart. By sharing true and powerful testimonies of those who have struggled with the idols of money, sex, success, food, and romance, Idleman clears away the cultural baggage of the 21st century to expose these gods for what they are - rivals to our unhindered devotion to Christ. Discover the freedom that awaits you when you allow the true God to reside unchallenged in your heart and life.

This is a six week study that will meet offsite at the facilitator's home.

9th grade retreat 2018

9th Grade Cross Training Retreat

April 27th - April 29th, 2018

$0 - $95

Many high school youth at Resurrection point to their 9th Grade Cross Training retreat as one of, if not the, most impactful weekend of their faith walk!

This weekend retreat is an annual tradition that we hold specifically for our 9th graders as they end their Cross Training time and begin the transition to our high school programming. Please note this retreat IS considered part of their Cross Training programming and all youth should make every effort to attend the retreat. Scholarships may be available to families who need financial assistance - please contact Krissy for more information.

Throughout the weekend, there are a number of opportunities for the youth to strengthen their connections with one another, with our high school Student Leaders and with God. Our greatest desire is that every youth leave this retreat fully knowing how loved they are by Jesus!

The retreat will take place at Green Lake Bible Camp in Spicer, MN. We will depart from Resurrection on Friday evening and return Sunday afternoon. All meals will be provided by the camp, but if you are able to send snacks/drinks with your youth to share with the group, they will all be forever grateful (as will we chaperones, so we don't have to listen to cries of being hungry between meals!). Also, if you are able to help drive youth to/from the retreat, please indicate that in your registration.

If you have any questions about the retreat, please contact Krissy Ganz, High School Youth Ministry Director, directly at kganz@resurrection-mn.com.

Vacation Bible School - Adult Volunteer Sign Up

August 6th - August 10th, 2018

Yo, ho, ho! All hands ahoy! Nearly 100 volunteers are needed to make “Shipwreck” a success this year. Whether you are an old salt (experienced VBS volunteer) or an inexperienced scallywag (never have volunteered for VBS), we could use you on the crew. Even if it’s just for 1 night. If you are a teen, you need to have completed 9th grade to volunteer for these positions.

Check out the options below…

a. Decorations: The decorations team will meet a few times on evenings and weekends before VBS starts to help create and assemble the sets and decorations for the sanctuary, education hallway and gathering space. They will also set up the decorations the week before VBS starts & help tear down decorations the last night of VBS.

b. Registration: The registration team needs help the weekend before VBS (prepping nametags, etc.) and during the week to check kids in, answer questions and sell CD’s. Monday we will need help starting at 5:00pm. The rest of the week we will start at 6:00pm.

c. Preschool Team: There are a variety of positions to assist with in Pre-school (Games, Snacks, Crafts and Adult Crew Leader). If you are the parent of a pre-schooler, this is a great way to participate with your child and help them feel comfortable with the hustle and bustle that is VBS. We try to put 1 adult or more with each rotation of preschoolers.

d. Photography: During the week we take photos of the children for daily closing video/slides as well as taking candids. We need 1-2 people to take photos and assist with staging the photos/props.

e. Dinners Team: There are 3 areas to participate with the Dinners Team.

Help prep the dinners starting at approximately 3:30pm.

Serve dinners from 5:00-6:30pm.
Clean up after the dinners from 6:00-7:00pm.

f. Snacks Team: The snacks team prepares the snacks for the kids each night. This is from about 6:30-8:15pm.

g. Crafts: The crafts team sets up the items needed for the evenings craft, helps the children make the craft each night, and helps clean up the craft room from 6:15-8:30pm.

h. Games: The games team helps set up the games for the night and assists the children in participating the nightly games and also helps chaperone the games (kids can get pretty excited!). 6:30-8:15pm.

i. Drama: Helps with the drama / story telling station each night. 6:30-8:15pm.

j. Adult Crew Leader: As an Adult Crew Leader you will travel with one of the color groups (Red, Yellow, Green or Preschool). You will assist the teen leaders as mentors and support them as needed if the children get unruly. You may also have to escort children to and from the restroom so the teen leader can keep the other children on task. It is critical that you are early on Monday as often we have teens at sports registration that first night. 6:15-8:30pm.

k. Floater: I can help wherever you need me! I understand that I might be in games 1 night and snacks the next.
