August 17th - August 19th, 2018
Step into the community and serve God and the world with a local Monticello mission trip!
This is a weekend full of helping others and spreading Jesus' light. We will start on Friday morning at church around 8:30 AM for food and devotions. We will then go out into the community completing local projects such as lawn care, painting, housework, etc. for those unable to do these things.
Friday night the team will head over to Cub Foods to pass out free food to those shopping from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Saturday will be a day full of jobs and Sunday will begin with church and serving at Family Feast.
If you can't sign up for the whole weekend - no worries! We welcome you to do what you can.
August 26th, 2018
Each summer, we travel down to the Mississippi on a warm afternoon with songs of praise. All are welcome to participate in this event. We welcome you if this is your first time being baptized and we welcome you if you want to reaffirm your baptism and take a dip again in to God's healing water.
Food and fellowship will follow after the baptisms.
Pathfinder Kids Sunday School
September 9th - September 9th, 2018
Kids grow, that’s for sure. Their hair, their feet, their vocabulary and their understanding of things is constantly growing. But how do we help them grow in their faith?
Pathfinders Kids is dedicated to laying a firm foundation of faith and knowledge of who Jesus is through playful and fun worship, Bible study, prayer and service. Because as their bodies and minds continue to grow, we want to be sure their faith is growing, too.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of Pathfinder Kids to check-in, find your child’s classroom and meet their teacher.
We use a computerized check-in system that issues a name tag and security number for each child attending Pathfinder Kids.
We require all parents/guardians to stay onsite at Resurrection while their child attends Pathfinder Kids on Sunday mornings.
Classes are broken out by age and all classrooms are conveniently located down the Spiritual Growth Hallway at Resurrection. Age breakouts for 2018/2019 Pathfinder Kids include:
- Pre-K (3 yrs/potty-trained to 5 yrs/not in Kindergarten)
- 1st and 2nd Grade
- 3rd and 4th Grade
- 5th Grade
Pathfinder Kids teachers have gone through a background check, been trained in child safety procedures and have a deep love and devotion to both God and kids.
Kids in 2nd through 5th grade are encouraged to bring their Bible and a pencil to Pathfinder Kids each week.
Cross Training 2018-2019
September 19th - May 15th, 2019
During September through May, our Cross Training leaders and students meet Wednesday nights from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM. This ministry takes our youth on a four year journey through both the Old Testament and New Testament. They also learn about the life of Jesus, explore basic Lutheran theology, and discuss the challenging questions where life and faith meet.
A complete description of Cross Training, the yearly schedule, and volunteer descriptions can be found on our website.
High School Life Together
September 19th - April 24th, 2019
Life Together is Resurrection's high school youth ministry that meets on Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:15-7:30 pm. There is a free, optional dinner served from 5:$5-6:15 each week that you are welcome to attend. Join us for worship, fellowship and the Word! Bring a friend!
While there is no cost for this ministry, we do occasionally have additional events (fun nights, lock-ins, retreats, etc.) that have fees associated with them. Details and registrations for those will be separate. Scholarships are also available for these events, as we never want finances to prevent youth from participating.
For questions or more information on Life Together, please contact our High School Youth Ministry Director, Krissy Ganz, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 952-232-9293 (cell).
We look forward to having you join us as we do LIFE TOGETHER!
New Member Informational Class
October 14th, 2018
For anyone interested in Resurrection membership, we hold an informational class for you to attend before deciding on membership. The New Member class is a place where you can learn more about us, our mission, our vision, and the ministries of Resurrection to help you decide if membership is a good fit. It also gives you an opportunity to get to know a smaller group of people entering the church at the same time as you.
All family members over the age of 15 (including both spouses) need to attend the new member class to become a member of Resurrection. Children currently attending confirmation classes do not need to attend.
Lunch is provided as well as child care for children under 15.
